i thought about what mr tan said today. i think, we can make it. if everyone works together. if those people can do it in 3 months, why can't we do it in 6 months?
but the way the school puts it, i now feel that, going on the overseas trip's like signing a contract with the school, promising that we're gonna get a gold with honours in 2007.
then all our minds will be filled with thoughts about getting that gold with honours. then what's music already?
yeah. we need to have aims. we need to have goals to work towards. but ultimately, we're not here just to get that gold with honours what.
don't tell me all the performing arts groups' members join their cca just to get a gold with honours for the school? i doubt so.
i'm sure those in choir joined cos they like singing. those in dance joined cos they like dancing. those in band joined cos they wanna make music. then now its like. wtf lah.
and i think the ___ __ are super WHAT lah. they haven't even got their basics right, and they want to rush into playing difficult pieces. in the end, they'll just memorise rhythms, die trying to fit into the tempo, destroy the whole piece or something. everything starts from the basics, why so impatient? there's no fucking shortcut. nobody took any shorcuts. its just practise, and more practise. and please, there's a difference btwn PRACTISING and PLAYING.
i wanna go on the overseas trip with the band. its gonna be hell a lot of fun lah. but the school is like. arghs.
still, we'll make it happen. right? at least i will try so damn hard, like i never did before.
